Carol earned her Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan in 1982. In that same year she passed all four parts of the CPA exam in the first sitting and was licensed by the Michigan State Board of Accounting in 1985. In 1991 she received her MBA with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Carol worked for over 13 years in small to mid-size CPA firms in Livonia and Bingham Farms, Michigan. She worked her way up to management positions within the firms and learned a great deal about assisting small and medium size business in all areas of accounting and taxation, as well as individual taxation.
In 1996 Carol joined the international firm of Coopers & Lybrand, who in 1998 merged into PriceWaterHouseCoopers (or PWC). As a Senior Tax Manager at PWC, Carol was an integral part of the growing practice area known as Entrepreneurial Advisory Services (EAS). The goal of EAS was to work with small to medium size businesses and give them the complete range of services, from audit to taxation, through one manager and help them grow their business.
In 1998 Carol became the CFO of a tier 2 automotive company that built robotic welding tools. As an active team player in the company management group, Carol brought the company into the new millennium by upgrading the computer and phone systems and achieving an ISO certification for the company. Unfortunately, due to economic circumstances beyond her control, in 2000, the company filed for bankruptcy and Carol learned from practical experience how to lead a company through the jungle of bankruptcy.
In 2001 Carol formed her own public accounting firm and has been steadily growing her firm by providing the highest level of professional and prompt accounting and tax services.
